Government has great responsibilities for public safety and public health, for civil rights and common schools. Yet compassion is the work of a nation, not just a government. And some needs and hurts are so deep they will only respond to a mentor’s touch or a pastor’s prayer. Church and charity, synagogue and mosque lend our communities their humanity, and they will have an honored place in our plans and in our laws.
Many in our country do not know the pain of poverty, but we can listen to those who do. And I can pledge our nation to a goal: When we see that wounded traveler on the road to Jericho, we will nor pass to the other side.”

President Bush, we are confident that you are a man of your word. We pray that you will never turn your back on any human being in need. We ask for your help, on behalf of the estimated 12 million people nationwide with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity “MCS”, who have had their lives shattered by chemically induced illnesses. At this time there is nowhere for them to run to, nowhere to hide, what is available to others, to them is denied!

The devastating and debilitating illnesses caused by toxic exposures make it impossible for many to work, attend school, church, socialize or even care for themselves. Their own homes and surroundings become off limits, far too toxic for their weakened and damaged bodies to tolerate. Many are then forced into isolation, separated from families, friends, and loved ones, becoming lonely, frightened outcasts. Now severed from society, left to suffer and die Homeless and Alone!
